PART 4. Life After The Enjoyable Diet™ Normal Eating System (The New You)
-
You won't need a maintenance program.
-
You won't need a weight loss journal any more.
-
You won't need to join a diet club or subscribe to a diet magazine.
-
You won't have to watch what you eat, or even think about it, for the rest of your life. You will maintain your goal weight automatically -- no food cravings, no compulsive eating, no overeating -- because you will have lowered your set point to match your goal.
-
You will feel as if you have never been overweight, just like all your slim friends (may they live and be well for 120 years plus two weeks).
-
You might even miss this diet after you've finished it. I did, for about six months (the length of time I was on it).
Now you can ---
-
Wear items you love that have been gathering dust in the closet and give away all the clothes that are too big for you. (This was particularly thrilling for me.)
-
Buy a new wardrobe in your permanently slim size. You can be truly proud of the way you look, wearing the size you've always wanted to wear. From now on, it will be the only size in your closet. Never again will there be frantic searches for something that will fit because everything will fit, forever after.
-
Buy clothes on sale in your permanently slim size, knowing that next season, they will still fit.
-
Be perfectly calm and relaxed about passing through turnstiles, riding in any vehicle, using public seating and eating in public.
-
Say "Good riddance" to weary, aching feet and painful summer chafing.
-
Bend to pick up dropped articles or tie your shoes, without wheezing or 'seeing stars'.
-
Enjoy climbing stairs instead of automatically heading for the escalator or elevator.
-
Feel delightfully smug whenever you think of how all your family, friends and acquaintances were sure you would never succeed. (I empathize completely.) When someone asks you how you keep so slim, smile gently and say, "It's a habit". And then tell them about this site.
Now you can't ---
-
Overeat. It would make you extremely uncomfortable, as it should. One client lamented, "There's a drawback to this diet, Mary: I can't pig out anymore. I used to like pigging out!"
-
Remember what you used to look like. Your self-image has changed right along with your public one. I hope you'll have your 'before' picture(s) taken before you start!
-
Truthfully say or think, "I'm overweight."
Here is a link to the blog of a woman who lost more than 200 pounds. She was not my client, but her list of 155 items about her "life after the diet" is astonishing and wonderful: http://lifestyle.laurarsilverman.com/ Happy inspiration!

"I found the diet quite easy to follow...I had to lose weight to get into my 'mother of the groom' dress. Lost my weight successfully and the dress looked terrific and I felt great. Could not have done it without Mary's help." --- Carol J., publisher; Paris, Ontario, CANADA
