a) How The Enjoyable Diet™ Normal Eating System Works
You weigh what you weigh because the amount of food you eat maintains that weight. If you want to weigh less, you will have to eat less.
But you'll have to fool your body into going along with your plan. You do this by alternating a lower amount of food with a higher one, every other day, just as you did to stop overeating and stop gaining weight.
When people say that diets don't work, they're talking about daily diets. You see, when you diet every day, Your body With a daily diet, it will take much longer to reach your goal -- if you ever do -- because you will be forever falling off the wagon. But if you do reach your goal, you will have a constant struggle to maintain it. In short, you will not be successful because you will never really finish dieting. You will be watching what you eat and weight-loss-journalizing for the rest of your life. Your body is programmed to try to make you quit a daily diet that is too severe. You can't change the programming, but with The Enjoyable Diet™ Normal Eating System, you can put it to work for you.
When you diet every other day, you constantly reassure your body that you are not trying to starve yourself.

The Enjoyable Diet™ Normal Eating System is really "a diet" for only 21 days. From Day 22 on, it's a calm way of life, just like any other habit.
When you follow the directions, you go through three predictable stages. If you do not experience these three stages, we'll both know you have tampered with the calorie allowances:
Stage One: The Practice Period (21 consecutive days). From Days 1 to 15, you lose water weight. Week 3 of Stage One is also the first week of ---
Stage Two: A 17-day Plateau, starting on Day 16. In this stage, you don't lose an ounce because your body is adjusting to the water loss of Stage One.
From Day 22 on, you are 'hooked' on normal eating. There are 10 definite signs of this.
Stage Three: Coasting to the Finish Line. There is steady weight loss, at two pounds a week, until you reach your goal. Every five weeks, you are a size smaller.
On Day 5 of Week 5 (Day 33), there is a physical sign that the plateau is ending. On Day 1 of Week 6 (Day 36), the plateau ends with a two-pound loss.
Yes, I know you'd like to lose faster, but permanent weight loss takes time. The Enjoyable Diet™ Normal Eating System is about safe, permanent weight loss and automatic weight control, not about 'doing a diet'. Besides, from Day 22 on, you won't care how long it takes to reach your goal.

Do not start any NEW programs of any sort (exercise, stop-smoking or what-have-you) during the Practice Period (the first 21 days). If you want to break other habits or change other routines, do so before starting The Enjoyable Diet™ Normal Eating System, or after reaching your goal.
For example, if you're already exercising, fine. But if you'd like to start a new or more difficult program, wait until after the 21-day Practice Period. And choose a program you will want to continue after reaching your goal.
